This Sunday, don't miss Jazz in The District at The Blue Note. The We Always Swing Jazz Series presents jazz bassist Rufus Reid and his trio teaming up with our very own MU Concert Jazz Band. Next week Reid will be giving a talk on the history of jazz at the Columbia Public Library and be working with local music students as well. 
If you're more into swing than jazz, don't miss In the Mood next Sunday, March 14, at 2 pm presented by the University Concert Series. Much more than a concert, In the Mood takes a retro look at the life and time of America's greatest generation. In the 1940's, the combination of up-tempo big band instrumentals and intimate, romantic ballads set the mood for a future filled with promise, hope and prosperity. In the Mood features singers and dancers with the sensational String of Pearls Big Band Orchestra. Enjoy songs like "I'll Be Seeing You," "In The Mood," and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" and well as classics by Sinatra, Miller and Dorsey.
