Eco School House is a 39-minute documentary film about the Columbia community working together to build a sustainable future for its children.
Most of you know the story. In the early morning hours of a cold Midwest winter, someone set fire to a classroom on the grounds of Grant School, a 100-year-old elementary school. Architect Nick Peckham, a committed builder and a determined principal, battle extreme weather, financial challenges, and time constraints to complete the first community-built, sustainable schoolhouse in the nation. This inspirational story will challenge your views about architecture, environmentalism and education.
