Public Meeting on GetAbout Projects

A public meeting will be held at the Activity & Recreation Center, 1701 W. Ash St., from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, to solicit input on the next round of GetAbout projects.

An additional $6 million in funding has been appropriated for the GetAbout project. A slate of 19 potential capital projects has been created. These projects were rated by the GetAbout Advisory Board, the Bike/Ped Commission and the Parks Commission. Details of the projects can be found at www.GetAboutColumbia.com under "infrastructure updates."

The City Council authorized staff to proceed with the first five, which had the highest priority ratings. $2.6 million remains after subtracting the cost of the five capital projects and non-capital expenses (project management, design, etc.). The city is seeking public input on which of the remaining 14 projects to fund using the remaining $2.6 million.

Those unable to attend the meeting can take the online survey, which will be available beginning June 13, on the city's website at www.GoColumbiaMo.com under "New and Featured." The online survey will be available for two weeks.
