Request for Proposals - District WiFi
The Downtown Community Improvement District (CID) is accepting proposals for a six-month pilot project that includes the construction, operation, and maintenance of a network delivering WiFi coverage to selected areas within The District.
The purpose of the RFP is to provide a fair evaluation for all candidates, and to provide the candidates with the evaluation criteria against which they will be judged. Proposals are due by noon on Friday, December 14, 2012. They may be submitted via email to cgartner@discoverthedistrict.com or sent to The District offices at 11 S. Tenth St., Columbia, 65201. Evaluation, interviews, selection and contracting will begin December 28, 2012 . Selection will occur on or around January 7, 2013. The project will be completed by May 1, 2013 and tested from May 1, 2013 to October 31, 2013.
A successful candidate to this RFP will have demonstrated proficiency and experience in the area of wireless; a thoughtful plan and strategy for developing and maintaining a wireless network; an understanding of cost-efficient solutions; the knowledge and ability to ensure the network can be updated as technologies change, and a working style and approach that is compatible with the CID's need for a long-term partner.
