We
recently sent out a request for Missouri sales tax identification
numbers for all businesses that charge sales tax, as required by the
Missouri Department of Revenue (DOR).
Just a reminder that the deadline to submit this information is this Friday.
If you do not collect sales tax, please disregard this request.

Fill out the Request for Missouri Sales Tax Identification Number Form.
- Return the form by Friday, February 3, 2012. You may fax it to (573) 303-0156 or simply drop it by our offices at 11 S. Tenth St. You may also email your information to info@discoverthedistrict.com.
Privacy Concerns
The
Downtown Community Improvement District is an official taxing district
and thus may collect this information. Just as the City of Columbia and
the Department of Revenue keep this information confidential, the CID
is required to do so as well. If you would prefer, you may contact DOR
directly, indentify yourself as a member of the Downtown Columbia CID, and provide this information to them. Contact:

You do need to know that, even if you have not provided this number to us, your business is still responsible for paying the sales tax.
In order to avoid the necessity of paying any back sales taxes, we urge
everyone to take just a few minutes and get this information into us.
