Casa de mi Padre
An amusing spoof of the telenovela, Casa de mi Padre stars Will Ferrell in his first Spanish language role. Ferrell is Armando, a Mexican rancher in desperate need of financial support. His brother Raul (Diego Luna) might rescue him, but Armando isn't doing himself any favors by falling in love with Raul's new fiancee. And what about this business with Mexico's most feared drug lord (Gael Garcia Bernal)?
"If you fell asleep in the hot-tub time machine and woke up stoned in 1982, this is the movie you'd find yourself watching on some UHF channel (right after the soccer match between Tigres and Toluca). Considered as a whole it's a wonderful and hilarious phenomenon, most of it is executed to Dadaist perfection." (Andrew O'Hehir, Salon)
