The City of Columbia Public Works Department announces that the northbound lane of Hitt Street between Cherry Street and Broadway will be closed from 8am to 5pm today though Friday for an electric system upgrade project. Northbound traffic will be detoured using Cherry and Tenth streets. The sidewalk on the east side of Hitt will be closed, but access to buildings will remain open.
