The City of Columbia Public Works Department announces one lane traffic on Fifth Street will be closed this week while glass is being replaced at the Fifth and Walnut parking garage beginning Tuesday, weather permitting. Walnut Street will remain open at all times. Fifth Street will be reduced to one-way traffic for southbound vehicles only. The sidewalk on Walnut and Fifth will be closed to pedestrian traffic in the work zone. The project should be completed with the roadway and sidewalk open to traffic by Wednesday, weather permitting.
