Street Closure Updates

Board of the CID recommended several street closures at their Tuesday meeting. City Council makes the actual decision on street closures, open container waivers and other event-related items.

The recommended street closures include:

1) Tiger Town

A street closure of Eighth Street between Elm and Broadway on the following dates:

Sept. 8: vs. Georgia
Oct. 6: vs. Vanderbilt
Oct. 13: vs. Alabama
Oct. 27: vs. Kentucky

Actual times are TBD--games times are not released until 10 days out but the event is scheduled for the 4 hours prior to kickoff. The proposed street closure would begin pre-dawn on the day of the event and organizers would begin breaking down the event after kickoff.

2) Ninth Street Summerfest

Three more concerts have been added to this season, all will have the traditional closure of N. Ninth between Walnut and Broadway. Dates are 8/8, 9/16 and 9/29.

3) Heart of Missouri Marathon

This will be held on Labor Day and they are requested a closure on Broadway between Eighth and Seventh for their finish line.

These closures should be heard by Council on Monday, June 18.
