The 107 FastCAT Express route that debuted in mid-August will undergo adjustment to its schedule and bus stop placement in response to passenger feedback. The changes will take effect Monday, October 15.
"With any route, particularly a new one, we try to listen to our passengers for changes that need to be made," said Drew Brooks, Transportation Administrator. "We're always trying to improve our services to meet the needs of our riders."
The purpose of the schedule adjustment is to make transfers easier between other Columbia Transit routes. FastCAT is an express loop that does not stop at the Historic Wabash Station, unlike other routes. Passengers transferring to and from FastCAT must travel a half block between Wabash to the closest FastCAT stop, located at the corner of Walnut and Orr Streets. The new schedule will run on a 15 minute headway, meaning one of the two FastCAT buses is scheduled to arrive every 15 minutes.
Several FastCAT bus stop locations will also change, effective Oct. 15. However, passengers can request a pickup or drop off at any intersection along the route. If it is safe to do so, the bus will stop. Drivers will continue to stop at previous bus stop locations through Wednesday, Oct. 17.
Passengers can visit RideFastCAT.com to see an interactive map of the route, new bus stop locations and locate the closest stop. The site is mobile browser friendly and there is an app for Android devices available for download from the site or in the Google Play store.
