CAL’s annual tribute to the True/False film festival, Based on a True Story, explores the layers and contrasts of reality and fiction. We live in a world where real life seems to collide on a daily basis with the fictitious world, whether in the realm of news, politics, nature, the media or humanitarian issues. Based on True Story invites artists to re-interpret the everyday world and put their own spin on the world we inhabit.
Lisa Rose & Joel Anderson are providing the jazz serenade, Jack's Gourmet are bringing the nibbly bits, Les Bourgeois is ensuring the wine flows, and the art will sing for itself.
Plus they'll be announcing the award winners as chosen by the juror, Paul Allen, Chair of Fine Art at State Fair Community College in Sedalia.
