Seventh and Walnut parking garage to be sealed

The city of Columbia Public Works Department announces that on Monday, July 11, at 7 a.m. crews will begin work on the Plaza parking garage at Seventh and Walnut. Parking maintenance crews will wash and seal the entire garage floor. This work will require that the garage be closed except for the reserved spaces. One level at a time will be closed to parking starting at the top and working down. Work is estimated to take approximately one week to complete.

Individuals with parking permits for the Plaza garage will be honored at the Fifth and Walnut garage. Permits will be honored in the hourly parking spaces in the new garage as long as permit holders display their existing hang tag.

Public Works asks for the public's patience; the fewer number of vehicles in the garage allows the maintenance crews to work faster and allows the garage to reopen sooner. Any questions about this work should be directed to Parking Utility at (573) 874-7674.
