9th Street Closed Due to Construction

The Columbia Public Works Department announces that 9th Street between University Ave and Elm Street will be closed from 7:00 PM on Sunday, October 7 to 6:00 am on Monday, October 8.

9th Street will again close at 7:00 PM on Monday, October 8 to 6:00 am on Tuesday, October 9.

The street closure is due to a large crane and other construction equipment in and in close proximity to the roadway in front of 308 South 9th Street, the project site of a multi-story mixed use building under construction.

The road closures will occur during the night time hours to reduce the impact to motor vehicle traffic, bus routes, and to pedestrians and cyclist. Motorist, pedestrians and cyclist should locate alternate routes and use caution in the area of the construction zone.

The FastCAT route is affected by this road closure and will run on a detour route as described in the previous press release.
