City's Office of Cultural Affairs to present Arts Advocacy Workshop
The city's Office of Cultural Affairs along with the advocacy organization Missouri Citizens for the Arts will present an Arts Advocacy Workshop on Thursday, October 18. The event will take place at Orr Street Studios, located in the North Village Arts District in downtown Columbia.
The Office of Cultural Affairs and Missouri Citizens for the Arts will present on current issues regarding arts advocacy from 4:30 to 6 p.m. After the workshop, there will be a reception from 6 to 7 p.m. with invited legislators and candidates.
"We want to give the Columbia arts community an opportunity to discuss advocacy issues as we approach the November election," says Office of Cultural Affairs manager, Chris Stevens. "The event will also provide a time for people to talk one-on-one with area legislators and candidates."
The event is free and open to the public, artists and art organizations who are interested in getting an update on the latest arts news and advocacy issues.
